What a difference an hour makes!

For one reason and another I was late getting off to work this morning (part of the slow start, I think, was being quite tired after my first day back yesterday). This meant that instead of leaving the house between 7 and 7:30 I left he house between 8 and 8:30. Oh dear. Morning rush hour. I ended up on a 422 as I missed two 486s, I should have known better. Always a bad move at that time of day - traffic along towards the Standard plus traffic from the Woolwich Road Flyover towards Greenwich. We eventually got as far as East Greenwich where the bus ground to a total (and seemingly long term, from the look of the gridlocked traffic) halt. At this point fellow travellers immediately start demanding to be let off the bus. This can go one of two ways. The driver will open the doors and let people off (due to the lack of danger from passing traffic as the traffic is stationary) or the driver will stick to the letter of the law, refuse to open the doors as he isn't at a bus stop and frustrate the passengers. Second sort of driver this morning, not only did he open the doors but the also calls out "anyone for North Greenwich if you hurry there's a 129 coming the other way - it will probably get you there faster" - so we all swapped, and continued unhindered to North Greenwich.
