Movie Night

We watched to movies last night; and I'd quite recommend them both. Firs up was "Mr Magorium's Wonder Emporium". This is a 'family' sort of movie in the vein of Willy Wonka (the original version). It had a pretty basic story, but this was made up for by the pathos, the humour and the amazing toy shop in which it was set. I think that Natalie Portman and Dustin Hoffman (amazing actors both) helped a lot, but I really enjoyed this film. Eight out of ten.

Next up was St Trinian's. This only got added to the list because I'd seen so many interviews with various cast members. It was passably amusing (well, as amusing as the original film) but it updated pretty well to the twenty-first century... and Rupert Everett in drag has to be seen to be believed. Much to my surprise (as I've never liked him much on TV shows) Russell Brand put in a pretty good performance too. It was fun enough to watch, six and half out of ten.
